June Goals and Life Update

I have been through so much in the last 12 months and have learned even more. This month sees me starting a new chapter in my life and I am welcoming it with big open arms. I'm a creature of habit but sometimes change is for the best.

Last month, I finished up my second year in college and although it was extremely stressful at times, I actually really enjoyed it. As you may know I was studying a different course before switching to Digital Media Design. I wasn't happy in the previous one so it was lovely this year to actually enjoy what I was learning and enjoy my projects! I also went on holiday to Budapest to visit my best friend Caoimhe (I vlogged the trip HERE if you're interested).  And last but certainly not least I moved home and started a new job. My new job is with my mam as part of my college degree. Most courses in UL require you to do a nine month work placement in the field that you are studying, for me that's digital media. My mam started a company at the start of the year and I'm going to be doing all of her design work, website, social media as well as all the admin and a whole load of other things. I am delighted to be able to work with my mam and also to get an opportunity like this.

So with all of that said and done, new beginnings mean new goals so I'm setting myself a few for this month!

Blogging: I said on snapchat and on twitter at the beginning of May I think, that I wanted to blog every single day in June. I have been so busy for the past year that I have really let the blog slide and while that completely fine, it is only a hobby after all, there are so many things that I want to write about. I think challenging myself this month will get me into a good routine again of writing.

YouTube: I have been a lot more consistent with my videos than I have my blog posts but I really want to get into a good routine with videos, filming on a certain day, editing and uploading on another etc. I want to produce two videos a week, one at the weekend and one during the week.

Spending Ban: I have seen a few bloggers doing spending bans for a month and I am going to jump on the bandwagon too, I really REALLY need to save money. So for the month of June I plan on only spending money on absolute essentials and not wasting money on impulse buys. The only thing aside from the absolute necessary that I'm allowing myself to buy is new workout gear, which leads me onto me next goal.

Fitness: I really need to start working out and getting my fitness levels back up again. I'm going to start simple and just try and go walking 3 or 4 times a week while eating healthily. I have tried a few different programs in the past but I just want to put in the effort during the week and then do whatever I want at the weekends.

Routine: I'm not happy when I'm not busy, which is why I take on so much. However, because I never really stick to a routine, I usually end up overwhelmed. Hopefully this month I'll be able to actually get into a really good routine, leaving time to actually relax and stop my brain going into overdrive. I'd love to be in a situation where one or two nights a week I just don't do anything except maybe a walk followed by face masks and gossip girl. Knowing me it probably won't happen but I am feeling very optimistic about this month so who knows!

  1. Great post Erin and thank you for also inspiring me to do the challenge also.. Like you it has just been a busy past few months for me and I feel like I haven't given my blog the attention. My goal is to do better and also to network more..
