Getting My Groove Back!

Well hello there,

It's been a while! I am so glad I took a break from blogging  and all thing social media. I really needed it. I just read my Life Lately blog post again and I can safely say I am no longer stuck in a rut. It's funny reading it back, I feel so differently now and it feels like I wrote that post ages ago, when in reality it was only about 6 weeks.

SO what's new? Well I moved back to Limerick and decorated my new room. I'm hoping to do a Uni Room Tour soon. It was really important for me to spend time decorating my room and make it a really happy space, as it's where I spend a good 70- 80% of my time. I'll go into more detail on that in the video.

I feel inspired again! I've a list as long as my arm for blog posts and videos I want to do. I'm so excited to get those up. I already started back on YouTube in September and I have three or four new videos up. I got a new phone FINALLY so I'm back on snapchat and Instagram and all things social!

In more exciting news I've been asked to speak at an event! It's for Enterprise Town and it's on the 14th of October, which is actually my second blogiversary! I also have more exciting news following that event but I'll keep quiet about that for the moment. But just know that I'm super happy and finally all my hard work seems to be paying off,

I'm still working for my Mam's company. It's been great, I really love working with my mam, we have such a great relationship. I'm going to a lot of work events this month, so if you're interested, follow me on snapchat & I'll bring you along. I'll be working with my mam until January and I'm  super excited as there's lots of cool things happening at the moment.

During my break I also changed up this blog a little, very small changes, but ones that have made me very happy. I changed the about & contact pages, I added a few more widgets, the home page now has 9 featured posts instead of 6. As I said very small changes but ones that make me super happy.

All in all, I feel really good. Things are looking up. Taking a digital detox was just what the doctor ordered. I am really happy to be back doing what I love, creating content. Long may it last!

Makeup Revolution Flawless Palette Makeup Tutorial

One of my favourites palette at the moment and possibly of all time is the Makeup Revolution Ultra Flawless Shimmer Palette. I did a full eye tutorial on just one of the many looks that you could do with this palette. I went with a cranberry grungy look. I know it's a little dark for the middle of Summer, but I don't really care haha! If I was doing this look normally I would use different transition colours, as this palette doesn't have a burnt orange look and that usually what I'd put in my crease for a look like this. Having said that, I think the look came together really well. Let me know what you think!

YouTube - A Year Later...

I actually cannot believe how quickly the last year has gone. At this stage I've been making videos for YouTube for over a year. I uploaded my first video to my channel on the 4th of May 2015. I remember being so nervous! I wanted to show everyone but show no one, shout it from the rooftops, but hide it from the world too.
So much has changed since uploading that first video. It's crazy what can happen in a year. One thing that has definitely changed a lot is my confidence. Making videos has made my much more confident in my every day life. I'm better at doing class presentations in college, I'm better at networking at business events, I'm better at a lot of things now. Another thing that has changed is the quality of my videos. Around 6 months into making videos, when the winter came around and the light was non existent, I invested in some artificial lights. I also upgraded my editing program from Windows movie maker to Adobe Premier Pro. I really feel like the quality of the videos has improved a lot.

There are still so many things I want to change or improve. I want to get better at editing, invest in some proper audio and potentially upgrade my camera too. I also would like to get into a routine of uploading videos and have some sort of schedule!

I'm really happy I joined YouTube, I've met so many amazing people, become a part of the wonderful Irish community and made some really good friends from it. I can't wait to see what the next year looks like for Chasing Ruby Chat.
