A Few of My Favourite Bloggers...

Blogging is one of my favourite things to do and  I really love reading other people's blogs too. I've read blogs for years, I feel like as the years have gone on,more and more people have started to blog, which is great. But it's made me become a lot more picky about what blogs I read and what content I take in. I read lots of blogs but today I wanted to share some of my absolute favourite...

Cliona Hill
I can't remember how I came across Cliona's blog but I am so delighted that I did. This lady takes the most beautiful photos and don't even start me on her flat lays ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜. I really admire Cliona, she's so dedicated to her blog. I love watching her snaps too so make sure to check her out on snapchat. I love the way she writes, her posts are always a joy to read and I get so excited when I see she's posted! If I won the lotto tomorrow I would hire her as my photographer, she is so bloody talented! Don't believe me? Check out her Instagram HERE!

Fluff & Flipperies
I have followed Emma's blog for the longest time!!! I always find so much comfort in reading Emma's posts, although it does leave me broke most of them. She writes about some of the most gorgeous products on the market and takes beautiful pictures which ultimately leads me to buying all of the things! But I'm not complaining because it usually leaves me very very happy! Check out Emma's blog, you won't be disappointed, trust me!

London Beauty Blogger
I think I first came across Hayley's blog on Twitter and was immediately obsessed! I absolutely love the way Hayley writes. I always feel like there's a story. Writing is definitely one of Hayley's strong point, she in my opinion is 100% blogging goals. Her photos are always stunning, her content is original and fresh and the way she writes is just the icing on the cake. I love reading all of her beauty reviews on the new products that are launching and trust her opinions 100%.

Putting It Out There
I have actually had the pleasure of meeting Yvonne from Putting It Out There a good few times. We traveled to a few events together and I can safely say that Yvonne is absolutely great. She has the best attitude towards blogging and  is always 100% honest in her reviews. Her blog  has a really nice design and her posts are always very detailed. She'll make sure you know absolutely everything about the product that she's reviewing, through in the fact that her pictures are top class and you've got a great blog to read!  I really love reading her blog and Putting It Out There is actually one of the very very few blogs I'm actually subscribed to!

So tell me who is your favourite blogger? What are your favourite blogs to read?

Contouring with Wet n Wild

Contouring is a massive trend at the moment and has been for quite a while now. Personally I don't think it's going anywhere soon. With that in mind I've been trying out lots different methods and products to try and carve out some cheekbones for myself and enhance my features. If you're a long time reader you'll know here on Chasing Ruby Chat I mainly blog about affordable/budget friendly products with the odd luxury/high end product thrown in for those days when you're treating yourself. As a student it's important that the money I do spend on makeup is good quality and a good price! One of my favourite budget brands in Wet N Wild. They have fantastic products and even better prices!

When they released their contouring palette and dual - ended contour stick, I was eager to get my hands on them. I am a very big fan of cream contouring, I love it for an everyday natural look. I find it much easier to do than powder contouring. Having said that, I really like powder contouring for night time and giving me that extra bit of cheekbone on a night out!

Below is the Dual - Ended Contour Stick, on one end you have your contour cream and the other is a highlighting cream. The contour end has a really nice shade/tone which is actually quite a great tone for us pale gals. I do find however if I add a little too much it can have a slightly orange tint. I like to apply three little lines just under my cheekbone and blend it in a circular upward motion. This will give you a super simple naturally defined effect. I don't have a very big forehead so I actually don't need to contour my there, I do however take what's left on my brush and blend that into my hairline to balance the colour on my cheeks. I usually use a brush to blend out the contour but sometimes opt for my beauty blender to give a very natural finish.

The other end of the stick is for highlighting. It is a cream/very very light pink/pearly kind of shade (best description ever). I find it's great for highlighting the cheekbones, cupids bow and down the center of your nose. I wouldn't put it too close to my eyes as it is quite shimmery and reflective. It's very easy to blend and is quite long lasting.

As this is a cream product it is suited more towards dry and normal skin. If you have oily skin, maybe opt for the powder instead. The packaging is actually very sturdy, I've traveled with this quite a bit and neither of the lids/tops have ever come off which is great as I find their lipstick tops come off really easily. This costs €5.99 and I picked mine up in my local Dunnes Stores. It can also be bought online, from pharmacies nationwide and also in selected Pennys.

The contouring palette is made up of two powders, one a brown contouring shade and the other a yellow highlighting/setting shade. The palette comes in two different shades, Caramel Toffee (the shade I have) and Dulce De Leche. The packaging is quite sturdy, I've dropped the palette numerous times and it has broken, which is of course brilliant. It's easy to open and close and you get quite a lot of product on each half of the palette.

The contour shade is great for us Irish gals as it suits pale skin tones. I am very VERY pale and it looks perfect on me. Again similarly to the cream I apply it just under my cheekbones, blending it in a circular, upwards motion. I only ever use brushes for applying/blending powder products. I like to use my Nima Round Head Kabuki brush in particular to blend out my powder contour.

The highlighting/setting powder is what really makes this palette great in my opinion. It is a yellow powder that I use to brighten my under eye area and set my foundation. I don't use to highlight the high points of my face as it don't work well as a highlighter, but I don't think that that's it purpose. I find it brilliant fro setting my under eye area as it isn't a heavy powder so doesn't settle into any fine lines/creases. It simply sets the area and brightens it up a bit.

This contouring palette can be bought for €5.99 again in either, Dunnes Stores, pharmacies nationwide and selected Pennys.

Wet N Wild have certainly upped their game along with lots of other budget brands in terms of the quality of their products. I would definitely recommend both the cream and powder contouring products. I have used both of them in quite a few videos but in this video I give you a demonstration on how to use both the dual ended contour stick and how to to powder contour.

Have you tried any of the Wet N Wild Contouring products? Let me know what you thought in the comments!

Christmas Beauty Stocking Fillers | Gift Guide

Hi Everyone!

It's that time of year again. I personally cannot wait for Christmas. Christmas is my favourite time of year. There are so many reasons why I love it, the food, seeing friends & familyand even the weather (believe it or not), I could go on for ages. But my absolute favourite thing about Christmas is buying presents for the people I love. I've said in the past how I actually don't really like getting gifts, not because I don't like presents, but because I hate the pressure of having a great reaction to the present when I open it in front of the person who gave it to me. I am an awful liar and if I didn't like something my face would give it away immediately. Anyway, I much prefer giving gifts and getting to give someone I love a present I think they'll really really enjoy! But sometimes it can be difficult to find that one perfect thing to give them. Sometimes it's easier to give them a few smaller gifts rather than one big one. So that's why I've put together this gift guide, to give you a few ideas. It's also very budget friendly, everything is under €25! I hope this helps you find a few pressies for that beauty addict in your life...

Let's start off with a little skincare shall we?! This is the Holos Anti Ageing Facial Oil I've done a full review of it HERE! I am obsessed with this product. It's very affordable at €22.20 and will last you so long! I've had mine for almost a year now! It is absolutely perfect for this time of the year too, with the weather getting colder, your skin is exposed to the harsh elements and this bad boy will keep you hydrated and protected all winter long. You can buy it HERE.

Moving onto some makeup, this is the Makeup Revolution Mermaids Forever palette. Can we just take a second to appreciate the pure beauty of this palette?!!This can be bought on Matte To Metallic for €10.99. I have a few Makeup Revolution palettes and I have yet to be disappointed in the quality of them. I am praying that I wake up to this on Christmas day, the colours are just too gorgeous!

Sticking with Makeup Revolution, below are one of the Lip Trends kits. I have two of the liquid lipsticks from Makeup Revolution and I am obsessed with them! I really do love them and have just ordered some more. This lip kit is only about €5 and can only be exclusively bought in Superdrug. These colours are perfect for the festive season and would be the perfect stocking filler gift.

This is the Goddess Collection from Cocoa Brown. I currently have the golden goddess and the rose gold goddess, I love both and when Cocoa Brown announced they were adding a third goddess to the collection I was thrilled. The third dry body oil is the Ice Goddess and in the Goddess Collection you get a miniature bottle of all three. The collection can be bought HERE on Cloud 10 Beauty for €14.95!
This is the Bagsy Bronzer from the Savannah Miller X Bagsy collection. It is the perfect glowy bronzer to add that extra sparkle to your festive looks. It can be bought in Debenhams for €22.50 and 15% of that will go to Women for Women International  which supports women survivors of war, giving them the practical skills, tools and knowledge they need to rebuild their lives.

Next up is a beauty Christmas cracker, a much more budget friendly alternative to a beauty advent calendar. This one is from This Works and can be bought from Meaghers Pharmacy for €13. The lovely Danielle from LilliWhiteRose has done a full blog post on all the different Christmas crackers available this year!

After receiving some makeup treats over Christmas, you'll need somewhere to store it all. Introducing the So Su Vanity Cases. They cost only €14 and can also be purchased from Meaghers Pharmacy. I really like the look of these cases and hoping to get one myself this Christmas. They look very expensive, roomy and perfect for travelling.

Next up is a little treat for a pamper night. The Body Shop have a lot of gorgeous gifts sets available this Christmas and I highly recommend going into one of the stores and checking them out for yourself. This is one of them, the Mango cube set. It costs only 9.95 and would be ideal in a Christmas stocking or as a secret Santa gift.

Lastly but by no means least, is this gorgeous little set from Zoella. It costs €22.00 and can be bought from either Boots or Superdrug. It has a divine smelling candle as well as some really cosy winter socks. I think this is just a really cute little gift set that is just perfect in a Christmas stocking.
And there you have it, nine little gifts that would be perfect for any beauty addicts Christmas stocking! I tried my very best to keep it as affordable as possible as Christmas can be quite an expensive time of year. Don't forget this Friday is Black Friday and lots of the items above will be on sale so do act fast if you're planning on picking any of these up! SO let me know in the comments what's on your Christmas list this year!

My Makeup Collection

Today I'm sharing my makeup collection. Some may think it's a big collection while others will be surprised at how small it is, I personally think it's a medium size collection. Makeup is such a personal thing and I love my current collection. A few months ago I went through all my makeup & threw out everything that was out of date & got rid of things that I didn't like or use so I'm really content with what's left.

I hope you like the video, let me know if there's anything major I'm missing or anything you'd recommend!
